A shearling ewe from Diane Christie’s Lornbrook flock took the breed championship at this year’s Balmoral Show under judge Jim Neil from the Scottish Borders.

This ET-born daughter of Hollylodge Viscount is out of a Loanhead ewe. Another Viscount ewe was the winner of the senior ewe class for the same owners.

The reserve slot and male championship was the aged ram, Tullyear Churchill, from Drew and Stephen Cowan’s flock in Banbridge. His sire is Duiske V Man and the dam is a homebred ewe by Logie Durno Van the Man.
Jamie Davison from Armagh headed up the shearling ram class with a home-bred tup from his relatively new Springfarm flock. His tup was sired by his stock ram, Aghavilly Boston and out of a Logie Durno ewe.

The Artnagullion flock is never far away from the prizes at Balmoral and William McAllister’s two strong ram lambs, stood first and second in the class with the winner being by Knockin Shop.

Winner of the ewe lamb class was Glenn Baird with a smart ET daughter of prolific show winner, Aghavilly Belvedere.
