Charollais Breed takes three interbreed titles at Royal Welsh Show

The Charollais breed put up a tremendous show of sheep at this year’s Royal Welsh Show and were delighted to take home three of the interbreed awards.  The show has the largest entry of sheep in the year, with over 40 breeds represented so the Charollais’s achievement was outstanding.

First was the pairs award which went to the Breed Champion, a shearling ram Logie Durno Officer together with the Reserve Breed Champion, a senior ewe Loanhead My Fair Lady. Both were from the Ingram family in Aberdeenshire.

The following day Jennifer Curtis was victorious in the Group of Three Interbreed Competition with home-bred stock from the Elmwick Flock. She teamed up her 1st prize ewe lamb, Elmwick Paige with the 2nd prize ram lamb, Elmwick Private Eye and the 6th prize shearling ewe, Elmwick Ocean to make an outstanding group, which were clear winners. The great day continued for Jennifer, when her ewe lamb beat all other breeds in the newly created Ewe Lamb Interbreed competition.

Congratulations to all exhibitors for flying the flag so well for our breed.
