National AGM weekend – 24th – 26th April 2015
The National AGM was held in Region 4 this year at Bedford Lodge Hotel, Newmarket. The itinerary for the weekend included a fabulous trip to Darley Stud on Friday, an interesting trip to either Duxford or Ely and the Prickwill Museum on the Saturday. Both evenings had drinks receptions, evening meal and entertainment laid on.
Friday morning at the Gallops, was an awesome display of hundreds of race horses being put through their paces. Later, Dan Phipps showed us round the sheep enterprise at the Darley Study .
Following a lunch laid on by the stud, guests were wowed by a show of the amazing stallions at the stud and then some of their progeny born in February this year
A beautiful display of mares and foals, with one just wanting to get away and show us how pretty she was ! …
Continuing with the racing theme in the evening, Charles Sercombe and his team put together a night’s entertainment with a quiz, jockey colours design and a Derby
Sunday was the goodbyes, raffle draw and trophy presentation. Goodbye to Charles Marwood who has retired from the position of Chairman of the Finance & General Purpose Committee after 16 years in office and was awarded the Terry Robinson Trophy for contributing most to the promotion development and furtherment of the breed during the past years.
