Boyo Flocks head Charollais female sale at 3,100 gns

David Roberts from Kenley in Shropshire topped the ‘Females with Figures’ sale of Charollais ewes and ewe lambs held at Worcester Market over the weekend when his shearling ewe sold for 3,100 gns.  The ewe was from one of Boyo’s top breeding lines; sired by Banc Nomis  and out of the reserve breed champion at the Great Yorkshire Show in 2015.  Her buyer was Lawrence Buckland from Stonebow Farm in Ashleworth, Gloucestershire.

Mr Buckland took another Boyo shearling ewe at 900 gns again sired by Banc Nomis.

The Boyo flock sold a shearling at 1,550 gns this time to Paul Amphlett from Tawelfa, Powys.  Her dam was purchased for 2,400 gns at the Banwy Dispersal sale and her sire was Oakchurch Rufort.   The flock also topped the ewe lamb section at 1,500 gns for sired by the 7,000 gns tup Wernfawr Spartacus lamb out of a Bronwydd bred ewe.  Going to this sum was Bryan Evans, from Penrhos, Powys.

The sale which included a reduction sale for the Camp House Flock of Robert Towers attracted buyers from as far as Northern Ireland, Cornwall, Wales and North of England.
